Even though I am really excited to be having Christmas with the family in Ohio for the first time, I am still sorry to not be home with the whole crew doing our Christmas thaaang. So I am really looking forward to New Years =] let’s have a second Christmas!
I ALSO sure hope that my flights are on time/not canceled. Too much holiday travel nonsense going on. Flying through DC from New York to Columbus… probably not the BEST idea this time of year. CROSSING MY FINGERS!!!

In about three hours my friend Anna will be here to help me take my luggage to lufthavnen. Then I will be on a flight to NYC via Iceland.
Right now I just can’t believe today has come. It really does feel like this big surprise… how did Dec. 22 come so fast? I will have to write my little wrap up later because right now it doesn’t feel real. I’ve already had to say too many goodbyes in the past few days that I think I have blocked the whole thing out of my head… I’m a bit nervous I’m going to have a freak out once I get through security.
It’s time to finish getting all of my things together and preparing to leave my room. I am not ready to say my last goodbyes yet… can’t I just stay a little longer?
For now I’ll say Vi Ses, København. I will be back.

Putting the “study” in study abroad
AH, my oral exam is OVER! It went really well but I was totally freaked out during the test when the proctor kept mentioning how he knew and worked with a bunch of the authors on my petitum. He was even a proofreader for one of the pieces and asked me a question about it… luckily it was actually a piece that had really interested me so I knew quite a lot about it (Norwegian civil society… who knew?) and he said he was impressed! Anyway, all in all, I received a 12 as my grade!
Did I mention that the Danish system runs on a 12 point grading scale? =] Ooooh yeah.
Now that that and my Danish exam are out of the way all I have left is my 15 page mythology paper (which I have already started, no worries) that I HOPE to finish by the end of the night. WE WILL SEE.

I AM SO NERVOUS
Tomorrow morning I have an oral exam. Me, my professor, and a proctor. In a room for 30 minutes. AH. I have to present what I have concluded from my 1200+ pages of research on Scandinavian civil society and they can ask me anything about those 1200 pages.
Yesterday I was feeling confident-like I really know my stuff.
Tonight I am scared to death! I have never done anything like this before!
Please, don’t freeze. Please, remember what to say. Please, answer all their questions accurately. Please, get some sleep tonight!
